There's a big new update of Outriders.
Outriders just received a fresh update on all platforms. This is the biggest game so far, resolving a number of bugs and crashes, some of which started with the game’s pre-launch demo.
Although the patch does not include a proper balance pass, some of the fixed bugs may affect the behavior of certain skills. “Please don’t consider this a proper balancing pass because it’s a small number of changes where a patch is required,” People Can Fly explains on Reddit.
Regarding what the patch actually did, the developer confirmed it fixed the issue that caused players to get stuck on the ' Sign In ' screen, but not the bug responsible for the ' Cannot Connect to Server ' issue.
The ungodly accurate enemy snipers are balanced to allow players more time to avoid their shots. You’ll also enjoy knowing that opponents on the Stargrave Expedition will bring fewer knockbacks to their attacks. Both Expeditions should feel more manageable as well, thanks to a larger delay between wave spawns and a lower number of creatures that cause knockback in general.
The bug that would sometimes cause the Trickster's Hunt the Prey skill to fail to teleport, and still go into cooldown, has been fixed. PC gamers, who recently found out that Outriders have left a massive crash dump, should no longer worry about clearing that folder, as the game will automatically delete old reports of the crash.
Outside of that, the patch responded to numerous crashes for solo and multiplayer sessions, and raised the maximum FOV cap on the PC to 130 from 90.
People Can Fly also provided an update to the item restoration process, for players whose inventory has been deleted due to a bug. The studio has not yet said when these items will return, but explained that a “small number of edge cases” have forced the team to continue working on finding solutions. The complexity, according to the developer, depends on how Outriders calculate item levels.
"The greatest difficulty we face is specifically related to giving characters the right item levels," explains People Can Fly. “Item levels are calculated using three different variables: Character level, highest unlocked World Tier and highest completed Challenge Tier.
“ The complexity of these three variables put together in individuals that affected character takes a bit of time for us to get right. Our tests indicate that restoring a higher level of gear than it should have leads to further character corruption, so we can’t issue a one-size-fits-all blanket with all the solutions here. Now, it looks ready, while the item restoration work continues in the background. The whole range of changes is huge. Hugely, in fact, People Can Fly divide it into eight different categories – all of which can be seen in the Reddit post linked at the top.
