Yep, you read that right. It looks like Insight Editions will publish a cookbook titled The Ultimate Final Fantasy 14 Cookbook that will include a variety of recipes inspired by the in-game world of Eorzea.
Thanks to the eagle eyes of Wario64 on Twitter (via Siliconera), we had an early peek at an unannounced cookbook of Final Fantasy 14. Simon & Schuster’s list is still live, even though it changed from the initial screenshot of Wario64 and now only refers to a "licensed video game cookbook" instead of a Final Fantasy 14 one, specifically.
Like the screenshots of Wario64, the book will include a preface written by game director Naoki Yoshida, and it will sell for approximately $ 35 (which is about right for other cookbooks with gaming themes that we have seen launched so far). The book is scheduled to launch on November 9, 2021.
There’s a fair amount of content included for that price, too; expect 192 pages and over 70 recipes, and each entry will have step-by-step directions and also realized photo craving, as well as even the clumsiest bard will get a stat-buffing to treat for their friends.
The game itself has some delicious dishes that you can cook if you decide to join the Culinarian class. Meals can be cooked and given to party members, and they temporarily increase your experience gained and combine with other stats for 30 minutes once you’ve bored them. Just like in real life. Sort of.
Apparently this is a Final Fantasy XIV Cookbook. Contains over 70 recipes https://t.co/PQ3Q2PHH7yhttps://t.co/7xkoajSItf pic.twitter.com/EJRb5oRaOA

No word yet on what the book will include, but we hope to see such classics as Boiled Egg, Mist Spinach Quiche, Alligator Salad, Dagger Soup, and maybe even Crimson Cider. There’s a wealth of inspiration in Eorzea, and if the book is close to as good as the Destiny 2 book, for example, it’s worth the purchase.
Nearly eight years after launch, Final Fantasy 14 broke its concurrent player record on Steam last week, and our very own Alex Donaldson recently had the chance to chat with Final Fantasy 14 boss Naoki Yoshida in a massive interview with Endwalker where the charismatic director discusses all things fandom, heroism, and the upcoming expansion.
